Sisan Lee (b. 1995) explores the sculptural possibilities that emerge at the intersection of different times and environments. Drawing on experiences shaped between urban and rural landscapes, as well as the structural thinking developed through spatial design, his work investigates how modernity and primitivism, nature and industry, continuity and change can coexist within a single form. This exploration extends across furniture, objects, and spatial works.

Casted Aluminum with Broken Marble
W 116.5 × D 83 × H 26 (cm)
2026

A project initiated through collaboration with TOTAL MARBLE, beginning with marble fragments discarded during production. Each fragment, with its unique form shaped by accidental breakage, is rearranged and bound together by molten aluminum that fills the gaps and slowly solidifies into a unified plate-like structure.

Though the marble fragments and aluminum possess different material properties and forms, they become essential elements of a shared structure as the aluminum solidifies between them. The two materials maintain their individual characteristics while supporting and complementing each other to form a single whole.
