Casted Aluminum with Broken Marble

‹Earth Pieces› began as a collaboration with Total Marble, using discarded marble fragments generated during the production process. These collected pieces are recontextualized from industrial waste into elements that form a new structural composition.
The work explores the juxtaposition and integration of contrasting material properties by combining naturally formed marble veins with cast aluminum. It also incorporates an architectural approach informed by experience in spatial design and construction methods.
Rather than imposing a fully fabricated form, the structure is developed based on the irregular shapes and inherent grain of each fragment. The marble pieces are arranged according to their individual form and veining, and are structurally bound through aluminum casting between the gaps. This process allows the structure to emerge from the material’s inherent physical conditions and flows.
