Sisan Lee (b. 1995) explores the sculptural possibilities that emerge at the intersection of different times and environments. Drawing on experiences shaped between urban and rural landscapes, as well as the structural thinking developed through spatial design, his work investigates how modernity and primitivism, nature and industry, continuity and change can coexist within a single form. This exploration extends across furniture, objects, and spatial works.

‹Proportions of stone› series explores the construction of objects based on the forms and proportions of stones discovered in nature. Unlike conventional design approaches that begin with human measurements or functional requirements, the series uses the size, shape, weight, and surface characteristics of collected stones as the primary criteria for determining the overall structure and proportion of each work.
The stones used in the works are preserved in their original forms without additional modification, while the metal structures are designed according to the physical conditions of each stone. The combination of natural materials and stainless steel, an industrial material characterized by uniformity and precision, reveals the contrasting qualities of each material and establishes a new structural relationship between them.
‹Proportions of stone› series examines how material conditions formed through natural processes can be extended into new forms and relationships within artificial structures.
